Hendrick Polanco My deepest condelences November 16, 2017

My deepest condolences.  May these few words from the Holy Scriptures bring you comfort in your time of grief...
John 11:32-45
32 And so Mary, when she arrived where Jesus was and caught sight of him, fell at his feet, saying to him: “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” 33 Jesus, therefore, when he saw her weeping and the Jews that came with her weeping, groaned in the spirit and became troubled; 34 and he said: “Where have YOU laid him?” They said to him: “Lord, come and see.” 35 Jesus gave way to tears. 36 Therefore the Jews began to say: “See, what affection he used to have for him!” 37 But some of them said: “Was not this [man] that opened the eyes of the blind man able to prevent this one from dying?”
38 Hence Jesus, after groaning again within himself, came to the memorial tomb. It was, in fact, a cave, and a stone was lying against it.39 Jesus said: “TAKE the stone away.” Martha, the sister of the deceased, said to him: “Lord, by now he must smell, for it is four days.”40 Jesus said to her: “Did I not tell you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” 41 Therefore they took the stone away. Now Jesus raised his eyes heavenward and said: “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42 True, I knew that you always hear me; but on account of the crowd standing around I spoke, in order that they might believe that you sent me forth.” 43 And when he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice: “Laz´a·rus, come on out!” 44The [man] that had been dead came out with his feet and hands bound with wrappings, and his countenance was bound about with a cloth. Jesus said to them: “Loose him and let him go.”
45 Therefore many of the Jews that had come to Mary and that beheld what he did put faith in him;

P Fisher Great guy April 6, 2017

Great guy, worked next to him for while a few years ago. He had great stories to share about his life at film school and working in a factory. Really down to earth person.

Once someone at work was looking for him and asked where "Karpowski" was. We got a kick out of that and made Jerry a letter-sized birth certificate with the name "Larry Karpowski" on it and printed it and presented it to him at his desk. We all got a good laugh out of that.
Joe Bilodeau An amazing young man! May 31, 2016

I worked with Jerry on the BT&E University.  This young guy was brought in to help us get organized with our activities.  When we met Jerry, we were immediately impressed with his prowess and initiative.  He quickly took charge and helped organize a bunch of loose cannons into something special.  He was extraordinary and gifted, especially for an IT guy!  We will miss his leadership, his smile and his sense of humor.  He will be missed, but his impact on us will never fade.

I met Jerry in flight test as well, and he helped us significantly with remote planning, management and flight test paperwork.  We would throw him curveballs and give him additional work from sorting out IT issues, chasing down something or logistics. Jerry could always handle it, and it my mind once an issue was given to him, he would take care of it.

Jerry also would greet us with a smile and a witty comment, which always led to good natured sarcastic banter among flight test teams.  The last time I saw him before I left Boeing, he had decided to "grade" my flight test paperwork, and told me and one of the lead flight test directors that  "we needed improvement on our paperwork skills, as we weren't putting out the impressive amounts of paperwork the tanker team was doing".  The thought of him telling us this and the resulting conversation still brings a smile to my face even today.

He was a true joy to work with, and I was sadden to hear of his passing.  It was a true pleasure to know him.

Ken Stanfel Thoughts from a Coworker May 29, 2016

The words “shocked” and “heartbroken” do not adequately describe my sadness upon learning of Jerry’s passing.  I walk by his desk and there is no longer his smile, no humorous conversation, no parting laughter.  How can this be true?

Jerry was an outstanding contributor to Boeing’s flight test organization.  He expertly established networks and information technology infrastructure for flight test teams performing testing in remote locations.  The schedule pressure was always on during these remote trips and Jerry always rose to the occasion.  He did so with a smile on his face and that casual and calm demeanor.  I enjoyed the conversations with him standing in the bright California sunshine watching our airplane taxi out for another mission.

The show, of course, will go on, but who will I call when the network projectors aren’t working in Conference Room 51C3 and I need them functioning in less than three minutes?  Who will help me when I can’t connect to the network via the Split Tunnel?  Who will I talk to when I want to discuss the merits of tucking in or not one’s shirt?  Who will I stand with watching the results of our hard work fly away?

I am not necessarily a holy man, but I am a believer, attend Mass and pray regularly.  I will hope and pray that someday my departed friend and associate, Jerry, and I will stand together again under the sunshine.  Until then, Jerry, you’ll be gone, but not forgotten.

Pam Donaldson A Nice Person to Everyone He Met May 28, 2016

I met Jerry back in 2010 at Boeing through Cindy Fowler.  He was a great help to me and very smart.  He helped me get set up with my computer and showed me so many tricks and short cuts with the computer.  I admired his zest for life and his friendly smile.  He was a great person and he will be missed very much.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family.  I know how hard this time is for all of you.  Just know he is smiling down on you.

C.Bourguet My deepest condolences May 27, 2016

My condolences, as feelings of pain and bitterness become unbearable. It is my desire to convey a comforting thought based on the Holy Scriptures

John 5:28 "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out."

This passage speaks of the resurrection of our loved ones. It is not God's plan to see us suffer and die, so He extends the following invitation to us: "Come near to God and He will draw near to you" (James 4:8)

Bonnie Falkowski Your loving cousin May 27, 2016

I am so very sorry for your loss. My heart is breaking right along side of each of yours at the knowledge of Jerry's death. I never had the privilege of meeting Jerry, but as I read through some of the other condolences, it is quite apparent that he was an amazing man . . . he would have to be . . . he was your son! I can’t believe how much  he looks just like you did Stevie when we were kids! I am certain that he will be missed by everyone . . . especially by you and your family. Please know that I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers at this time, and please know I will be up there soon to comfort you and see you through the next several days. Right now I am specifically praying that the Lord will make His presence real and tangible for all of you during this difficult season, and that He will meet each and every one of you exactly where you are at in the midst of your pain and suffering. May you be filled with His peace that transcends all understanding, even amidst your tears, for God see's your pain, and He hears your cries. So run to Him now, and allow Him to comfort you as only He can do. You are His beloved child, just as Jerry is, and He loves you deeply and passionately. He is our great comforter, so run to Him now and He will comfort you.

Bonnie Falkowski ~

Janet Andrews So sorry for your great loss May 27, 2016

I did not know Jerry well, as I am a newcomer to Flight Test.  But I know what it is like to lose someone you love too soon.  May you find some comfort in your memories and the love that you shared together.  I will pray for your family in the weeks and months to come.
